The NETGEAR Booth Tour: Center Stage (01/11/2007 2:00 PM)
As we’ve discussed, CES is a huge event. So exhibitors are engaged in some serious competition for the limited time of press, analysts, and consumers. Yesterday we talked about the various zones of the Netgear booth… except for the center stage.
Unlike many booths with the typical talking heads, Netgear put on an educational and entertaining show. I have no idea where they found this pair or what their background is, but they are awesome. Every time I was in the booth, it was standing room only for the 7-8 minute periodic performance. Basically, they get folks up to speed on Netgear products and technology. While riding 6’ unicycles. And juggling pins and knives. But wait! There’s more! They also interact with the audience (improv comedy style) and have attendees assist with the show. Learning about draft 802.11n specs from an unicyclist is definitely a site to behold.
The pair also threw hats, shirts, and blinking Netgear dice out to the crowd. Each show ended with a Storage Central and RangeMax giveaway, plus everyday there is a drawing for a WiFi Skype phone. At the end of CES, one Digital Entertainer HD will be given away. Being a Netgear VIP, I scored a pair of the blinking dice.
