How many VueZone cameras can I add to my network?

Depending on the Service plan you choose, you can have up to 15 VueZone cameras per VueZone account. Each camera is uniquely addressable and shareable. You can set a different recording schedule by camera; you can share an individual camera or multiple cameras with different friends. Is VueZone a security device?

VueZone is not intended to be used as a security or surveillance device as the cameras only record video when being viewed, or if scheduled in advance. Continuous 24/7 streaming of video will quickly run down the camera battery and stop the stream. Use VueZone like you would your Smartphone - frequent and regular glimpses into your busy life from anywhere.

How long will the VueZone camera batteries last?

A new battery should last 6 months with normal usage. Normal usage is defined as 5 minutes of viewing or recording a day. Depending on your specific usage battery life can vary widely. The VueZone personal video network is not intended to capture video 24/7 for later review. The cameras only operate when you are looking at them, or if you have a schedule video recording running. Can I place my VueZone cameras outdoors?

What is the range of the VueZone cameras?

VueZone cameras can transmit up to 300 feet (line of sight) back to the VueZone base station. However as with any wireless device, the actual range will vary widely, due to interior walls, overhead ceilings, metal obstructions, or other such factors. In general, your VueZone wireless network will have a wireless transmission range similar to common 802.11 wireless devices and should adequately cover most homes of less than 2500 sq feet. Can I plug-in or recharge the VueZone cameras?

Will VueZone cameras work in low-light or total darkness?

VueZone Indoor and Motion Detection cameras have a Low-Light setting to enhance the video image when you view and record in low light environments. These camera models require the light of at least a 40 Watt bulb to capture quality video. VueZone may also be used in combination with motion-activated lights to provide an effective nighttime solution

What is the visibility range of the VueZone Night Vision camera?

The camera can view and record video in darkness within the range of the IR lamp – about 25 feet.

Do Night Vision cameras also operate in normal/daylight?

Yes. Indoors the video will be in color and look like video from other VueZone camera models. Outside the video will also be in color, but may appear washed out or muted due to the wavelength of light from the sun.

Does live or recorded video captured in the dark appear in color?

No. Like other night vision cameras, the video will appear black and white, possibly with a green tint.

What is the resolution/detail of the images in the dark?

The resolution of the camera is the same during normal light or at night. Many factors will affect the ability to view specific details such as facial features. These factors include the distance between the camera and the subject and how fast the subject is moving. VueZone cameras are not high definition.
