NETGEAR ProAV Showcase at InfoComm 22

It’s InfoComm time again and we’re heading back to Vegas for the final Pro AV show of the season. It’s a busy time for NETGEAR Pro AV, with a spate of back-to-back shows, including NAB in Las Vegas earlier this spring and ISE in Barcelona. At each event we showcased three new AV-over-IP products: the new NETGEAR Engage™ Controller application, which builds on the success of the groundbreaking AV graphical user interface (GUI) found in the M4250 series managed switches and two new, smaller M4250 desktop switches to allow for streamlined installation in a range of space-limiting applications.

InfoComm is no exception. We’ll have these innovations on display along with our other AV-over-IP solutions and if you’re heading to the show, you’re sure to see NETGEAR switches not just in our booth, but in action with our multitude of partners – a continually growing community.

NETGEAR AV User Interface

The NETGEAR M4250 AV Line Series switches are unique in the industry with an innovative AV-oriented GUI. Removing all the complex menus filled with arcane IT network jargon, the AV GUI provides a simple AV friendly template-based approach to switch configurations. This streamlined workflow enables AV integrators and installers to dive right into projects with the confidence that all the network settings are correct for their AV application. This eliminates the steep learning curve and cumbersome setup normally associated with network switch configurations.

The new NETGEAR Engage™ Controller application extends this simple-to-use approach providing the same level of efficiency with comprehensive configuration of any M4250 or M4300 managed switches. With only a few clicks, users can configure these robust switches for any AV-over-IP installation ranging from digital signage and wayfinding to entertainment venues, corporate conference rooms and lobbies, education, houses of worship and more. Available soon, this new standalone software solution will be a free Windows, Mac, and Linux application users can use to set up and monitor NETGEAR’s powerful switches engineered for AV over IP.

M4250 Desktop Model

Joining the new NETGEAR Engage™ Controller at this year’s NAB show are two new additions to the M4250 portfolio – compact, desktop M4250 models. Since its launch, the M4250 AV Line of managed switches has redefined Pro AV industry benchmarks, due to the AV-oriented design, unique AV GUI, and the same out-of-the-box functionality found on the popular M4300 and M4500 switches . From conference rooms to digital signage, the new M4250 desktop models are small enough to fit behind a monitor or under a conference room table allowing full functionality in a compact form factor with the horsepower needed for complicated installations. The NETGEAR Engage Controller and the M4250 desktop models will be available in Q3 of this year.

Pro AV Partners

The list of our Pro AV partners continues to grow. We announced 150 partners in April and we’re swiftly approaching 200 now. Among these is Broadata Communications, Inc. (BCI) with whom we’re working to demonstrate 10G and 40G matrix switching over IP using Software Defined Video over Ethernet (SDVoE) technology.

Specifically, this partnership brings together BCI’s family of 10G SDVoE Encoder/Decoders and our M4300 Series of 10G Switches to deliver the highest-quality, fully uncompressed 4K and zero-frame latency video networks. The 10G Series of AV Over IP products is one of the fastest-growing segments in the next generation of AV connectivity. Creating reliable networks is faster and easier with the ability to leverage existing network infrastructure technology without making compromises as with more complex traditional matrix switching solutions. BCI/NETGEAR systems also come pre-configured, offering zero-touch deployment that helps significantly reduce cost and time to market. Learn more by visiting the Broadata booth #W767 or www.broadata.com.

Another partner, Advantech recently announced a partnership with us to develop Software-Defined Video-over-Ethernet (SDVoE) solutions that benefit the entire SDVoE Alliance ecosystem. To support diverse audiovisual content streaming applications in the medical, manufacturing, and broadcasting industries, Advantech’s VEGA series offerings have been equipped with SDVoE technology, which enables point-to-point, point-to-many, and multicast AV-over-IP communication. Moreover, as part of the company’s commitment to cultivate additional vertical industries, Advantech is partnering with NETGEAR to develop high compatible SDVoE products that benefit SDVoE Alliance members and customers worldwide.
