The Municipal Cultural Center in Police underwent a comprehensive modernization, using cutting-edge audiovisual solutions from Harman Professional Solutions. The project transformed the venue into a high-performance space for various events, equipping the main auditorium and chamber hall with state-of-the-art sound, control, and projection systems. The investment highlights the importance of thoughtful planning in cultural institution upgrades.

BACKGROUND

The Municipal Cultural Centre in Police is a key venue for cultural and artistic events. As technology rapidly advances, the need for upgraded stage equipment, sound systems, and AV control has become evident. A strategic investment has been made to modernise the facility with the latest audio-visual technology to enhance its capabilities and keep pace with modern performance requirements.

CHALLENGE

The primary challenge was guaranteeing that the centre could accommodate various events, ranging from professional performances to community-driven activities, while maintaining flexibility and ease of use. The existing sound and control systems were outdated, limiting the venue’s ability to provide high-quality experiences for both performers and audiences. Furthermore, the solution needed to be future-proof to avoid the need for frequent replacements or upgrades.

SOLUTION

To tackle these challenges, a cutting-edge AV system was installed, featuring:

Auditorium:

• JBL Professional VTX A8 line arrays (6 per side)
• JBL ASB6128 subwoofers (4 units)
• Crown iTech Series and XTi 2002 amplifiers
• Soundcraft Vi3000 digital console with ViO/D21 Cat5 MADI expansion
• Soundcraft Ui16 for wireless mixing via tablet or smartphone
• JBL Professional 9300 and 9310 cinema speakers with a JBL 4739 behind-screen speaker
• Crown DCi 4|1250N amplifiers for cinema sound
• BSS audio processors and wall-mounted controllers for seamless system management
• JBL Control 23-1 speakers for stage monitoring and AKG CK49 gooseneck microphones for clear speech reproduction

Chamber Hall:

• JBL EON 712 speakers (4 units)
• AKG WMS470 D5 Vocal Set (4 units) and WMS470 Presenter Set (4 units)
• Soundcraft Ui24R and Ui12 digital mixers

System Control:

• AMX control system with DVX-3266-4K matrix, DX-TX-DWP-4K-BL, DXL-TX-4K60 transmitters, and a 10-inch touch panel
• NETGEAR GSM4248PX network switch to ensure stable connectivity

Additionally, the modernisation included a new lighting and LED projection system installed by skilled professionals from Stage Source and Perfect Display.

RESULTS

The modernisation has significantly enhanced the facility’s capabilities, enabling it to host a broader range of events with professional-quality sound and visuals. The venue can now easily accommodate both small-scale performances and high-profile productions. The new control systems ensure intuitive operation, lowering technical barriers for users. As a result, the venue has established itself as a competitive cultural hub, rivaling larger cities such as Szczecin.

Sławomir Tomanek, the center’s sound engineer, highlighted the significance of strategic investment in stage technology:
