NETGEAR LEADS THE INDUSTRY WITH NDI® INSTANT CONFIGURATION
NETGEAR’s M4250 AV line of switches now supports popular IP Video & Audio standard with unique configuration profiles
San Jose, CA – June 28th, 2021 - NETGEAR®, Inc. (NASDAQ:NTGR), the leading provider of networking products that power businesses both large and small, today announced its latest strategic collaboration providing further validation of the popular M4250 series switches. NETGEAR and NDI®, a brand of the Vizrt Group, have achieved interoperability and integration via a unique NDI configuration profile on the NETGEAR M4250 switches.
NDI is a royalty-free software technology used by hundreds of manufacturers around the world that allows broadcast quality video and audio to be shared across an IP network, thus eliminating the need for proprietary network equipment, costly point-to-point connections, and complex infrastructure upgrades.
With NDI and NETGEAR, content creators can create high quality audio and video content anywhere (at home, in a professional studio, or in the back of a Recreational Vehicle) and share such content with their audiences worldwide over an IP network.
Traditionally, IP-based audio and video workflows require costly equipment and complex configuration settings at the production end. As such, creation of high-quality audio/video content was restricted to professional studios. The NETGEAR AV Line of M4250 switches with its new, easy-to-use web interface combined with the NDI software eliminate cost and complexity associated with audio and video workflows. With NETGEAR and NDI, content creators can focus on telling a better story and not worry about getting to a professional studio or deal with the cost and complexities associated with AV workflow technology.
“Our close working relationship with NDI, an industry leader, is yet another proof point of our continued commitment to the Pro AV industry,” said Laurent Masia, Director of Managed Switches and ProAV Engineering Services at NETGEAR. “NDI profiles on the M4250 line of switches allow AV integrators to transform a content creator’s studio, home-office, or Recreational Vehicle or other location into a broadcast quality audio/video content creation and distribution hub”.
“Customer success relies on both companies working together toward a common goal. The NETGEAR and NDI relationship fully embodies this sentiment and enables our customers worldwide to benefit from the best possible IP-based content”, said Michael Kornet, vice president business development, NDI. “We recognize the central role a network switch provides and celebrate NETGEAR’s commitment to the NDI community that includes thousands of products in the hands of millions of users.”
Unique features built into all NETGEAR Pro AV switches like NETGEAR IGMP Plus™, Auto-Trunk and Auto-LAG follow IT best practices to ensure that any NDI AV over IP deployments will work with minimal configuration required.
Wide Range of Applications
From conference rooms to college campuses, NETGEAR switches have already been proven around the world as the go-to brand for AV over IP installations. As the need for robust IP-based AV solutions continues to grow, NETGEAR and NDI will collaborate further to enhance the experience for integrators and end users.
