NETGEAR EXPANDS MOBILE PORTFOLIO WITH 450 MBPS CATEGORY 9 LTE ADVANCED MOBILE HOTSPOT

BARCELONA, Spain — March 2, 2015 — NETGEAR^®, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTGR) (www.netgear.com), a global networking company that delivers innovative products to service providers, consumers, and businesses, will demonstrate its first Category 9 LTE Advanced technology at the Mobile World Congress trade show held March 2-5 in Barcelona, Spain. NETGEAR will highlight this technology with an AirCard^® mobile hotspot in Hall 5, Stand 5F21, of the Fira Gran Via Exhibition Center, along with the rest of the company’s LTE, WiFi and networking product portfolio.

This LTE Category 9 AirCard mobile hotspot represents the first in the next generation of 4G LTE products from NETGEAR supporting 4G LTE Advanced Category 9 and 3-Carrier Aggregation. It aggregates up to three bands to provide up to 60 MHz of bandwidth for a potential download speed up to 450 Mbps*. The hotspot is enabled by the Qualcomm^® Snapdragon™ X12 LTE modem from Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. (QTI), a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated, and a QCA6174 2-stream 802.11ac Wi-Fi chipset from Qualcomm Atheros, Inc., a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated (www.qualcomm.com).
