NETGEAR EXPANDS INSIGHT CLOUD MANAGED SMART SWITCH FAMILY TO DELIVER GREATER POWER AND CAPACITY
Two new 52-port Gigabit Ethernet switches provide larger businesses even more control, security, remote monitoring and management anytime from anywhere
SAN JOSE, California — July 24, 2018 — NETGEAR®, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTGR), the leading provider of networking devices that power today’s small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), today introduced two Insight Managed 52-port Smart Cloud Switches, offering even more capacity for growing businesses. NETGEAR is also updating the highly rated Insight cloud management system with even more functionality and Power over Ethernet (PoE) controls.
Managed by the NETGEAR Insight app or Insight Cloud Portal, these new switches provide easy setup with anywhere remote/cloud monitoring, management, and advanced security. The NETGEAR® Insight Managed Smart Cloud GC752X and GC752XP are the first 52-port Gigabit Ethernet Switches with 2 SFP and 2 SFP+ 10G ports with Insight management. Additionally, the GC752XP adds 48-ports of PoE+ with a whopping 505W PoE power budget.
The two switches are now available worldwide through authorized NETGEAR partners and other reseller channels and ecommerce sites:
GC752X | NETGEAR Insight Managed 52-Port Gigabit Ethernet Smart Cloud Switch w/2 SFP and 2 SFP+ — $419.99 MAP
GC752XP | NETGEAR Insight Managed 52-Port Gigabit Ethernet 505W PoE+ Smart Cloud Switch w/2 SFP and 2 SFP+ — $899.99 MAP
“These versatile new Smart Cloud Switches will empower today’s small and medium business to better leverage the cloud, Internet of Things (IoT) and other IP devices to facilitate growth,” said Richard Jonker, vice president of product line management for SMB products at NETGEAR. “Larger businesses and schools can use onsite, cloud or mobile to manage all Insight switches, access points and ReadyNAS devices. The GC752X and GC752XP offer lots of PoE power, uplinks and ports for expansion while delivering whisper-quiet operation for easy placement of devices. Our Insight Managed Smart Cloud switches don’t require complex software, additional hardware, or a large IT staff to power your business-critical infrastructure.”
All NETGEAR Insight Managed products are fully-integrated cloud-manageable devices that require no additional hardware, such as cloud keys, local servers, VPN or proxy appliances. Additionally, there is no complex setup required to connect directly to the cloud. Unlike competitive cloud solutions, NETGEAR Insight Managed products are also fully functional networking and storage solutions in local mode and do not require cloud connectivity to function. This capability allows each customer to decide when and how to use the cloud-connected solution and provides the ability to change modes as required.
All Insight Managed Smart Cloud Switches support a full suite of advanced L2+/L3 Lite switching features for everything from a simple network to a highly complex one and are designed to meet current and future needs of a fully converged network. The Insight single pane of glass view displays granular port level management capabilities. Some of the key features include:
- VLANs (including Auto-VoIP & Auto-Video) and LLDP support
- Port trunking / Link aggregation and IGMP snooping
- QoS and priority queuing, port-based rate limiting, STP/RSTP and loop prevention
- ACLs, storm control and port mirroring
- Advanced per-port PoE controls, scheduling, and timers (PoE models)
- IPv6 management and support for future-proofing your network
- IPv4 and IPv6 static routing for optimizing your network outgoing traffic
These two new 52-Port Smart Cloud Switches join the lineup of six additional Insight Managed Smart Cloud Switches ranging from 10-ports to 28-ports, which are the industry’s first fully-integrated, cloud-manageable network switches for SMB, first debuted in the autumn of 2017.
All NETGEAR Insight Managed Smart Cloud Switches include a 5-year Limited Hardware Warranty, Next Business Day shipping for replacement, and available technical support options including remote professional configuration and trouble-shooting.
Introducing Insight 5.0
With the new Insight 5.0 management solution, businesses continue to experience easy device onboarding, intuitive set-up, remote management and full monitoring of their network. With 20 years of experience in small business networking, NETGEAR is delivering network connectivity that “just works” at your fingertips and is adding new compelling features for even more security and ease-of-use.
The newly added features include:
- Firmware Scheduler: Currently on Insight 4.0 you already receive pop-up notifications, with the new Firmware Scheduler in Insight 5.0, you can create an automated update schedule based on the time best for you. Schedule a firmware update in the middle of the night when no one is in the office and it will not affect online clients.
- Improved Security with 2-Factor Authentication: Insight 5.0 provides more security with the addition of 2 factor authentication: login is the first way of authentication, and you can add SMS text message or push notifications to your phone after adding your device to the list of trusted devices.
- Improved In-App Support to provide easy access to NETGEAR knowledge base and support videos directly through the Insight app, for instant troubleshooting and time savings. It also gives easy and fast access to NETGEAR chat/phone info, and also allows to open a support case right through the app.
Insight provides a unified, single-pane-of-glass view with easy access to both product information and support. It is the answer to the once tedious setup and configuration of devices either in individual device GUI silos or via overwhelming device management tools created for complex enterprise networks.
NETGEAR Insight is available as either a free app for iOS and Android mobile devices or as a web portal accessible from any internet-connected web browser. The new Insight Cloud portal offers the advantage of a larger display screen, ideal for configuring larger port-count switches such as the new 52-port Insight Managed Smart Cloud Switches.
The NETGEAR Insight management solution has two subscription plans: Insight Basic for the Insight app only, and Insight Premium for the Insight app, the Insight Cloud Portal with additional advanced features. Each Insight Smart Cloud switch includes a 7-day free trial of Insight Premium including the Insight Cloud Portal.
